How to Care for your Hardwood:

With the variety and quality of finishes on the market today, cleaning your wood floor is easy. It is important, though, that you use the products designed for the particular finish on your floor. Aside from regular sweeping or vacuuming, you should always use the products recommended by the manufacturer, so as not to void the warranty.

Dirt, grit and dust are abrasive, and over time the floor will dull, particularly in high traffic areas. You can use refinishers to restore the luster level of your floor, and in time you may need to have it top-coated with finish. Damaged boards can be easily replaced from within the field of the floor. Scratches or dents may be filled, and/or touched up with markers of the same stain colour.

Use a humidifier in conjunction with your furnace or air-conditioning system to maintain a relative humidity in your home, 45-50% will maintain the moisture in the wood and minimize cracks between the boards.
